All developments that have occurred in other ID cards have also been incorporated in the Membership Cards .

Membership cards work much the same way as any other modern sophisticated ID card. When the card is swiped on the reader, the stored information on the chip is read and authenticated. To verify that the person carrying the card is really the member, the specimen signature can be compared to the person’s signature.These new membership cards are also here to stay as more and more organizations are finding them useful and easy to use.

Membership cards are sometimes printed on both surfaces with the design logo and matter of the club or organisation. The color and design on the cards can also be a distinguishing factor for different privileges allocated to different status enjoyed by the members making membership cards status symbols that are flashed around to get attention from common people. Membership cards that are used by the armed forces or secret service etc. can have extra safety features to make them more secure and protected from fraud.
